- There is an efficient Fire Brigade, maintained by the Urban Council (cannot confirm if these details refer to this fire station or a previous one - no address given)

- Farnborough Brigade, along with Chislehurst and Lamorbey, were elected to the South-Eastern District of the Kent Fire Brigade Union, thus joining 66 other Brigades

- [Chislehurst old fire station 1] was built 1893 on glebe land. Before that date there was an even older fire station in Church Lane, about where the mortuary chapel is now. These were demolished in 1892 when the graveyard was extended. It closed in 1953.
